Profile
The Institute has excellent facilities and has earned global renown for its cutting edge research. The core of the Institute’s research has traditionally focused around engineering and geodetic surveying, and satellite positioning systems; this has widened to include fields such as photogrammetry, remote sensing, sensor integration and GIS. Our research ranges from fundamental science to application focussed.
The Institute offers PhD and MSc programmes, with candidates coming from a wide variety of backgrounds from all over the world and many progressing to senior positions in industry and academia. Our MSc courses in Engineering Surveying and Geodesy*, Satellite Positioning Technology* and Navigation Technology have been designed to condense the teaching in to one week blocks which frequently suit part-time attendance for those in industry. Our MSc in Environmental Management and Earth Observation* runs in a standard semester based module structure.
