Member Profile

Historic England

Historic England is the government's independent expert advisory service for Englands historic environment. It gives constructive advice to local authorities, owners and the public, champions historic places and helps people to understand and care for them, now and for the future.

Located within the Heritage Protection Department the Remote Sensing team undertakes research to develop effective application of remote sensing techniques across the historic environment.

This includes the York-based Geospatial Imaging team who are actively engaged in applying, developing, setting and promoting standards for survey, including laser scanning, photogrammetry, Structure-from-Motion and Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA), across all heritage applications.
