Main Function: Manage, evaluate and classify enquiries from existing and potential customers for suitability and accept or reject. Provide accurate quotation by effective estimating or use of target/framework rates and respond to customer agreed timescales. Utilise Pipedrive systems for accurately capturing and tracking estimates and populating order book in relation to annual and 5-year forecasts. Manage Invitations To Tender and Pre-Qualification Questionnaire’s from external sources in line with submission requests.
Responsible to: Reports directly to the Operations Manager / Chief Operating Officer
Responsible For: Ensuring that the customer quotations and estimates are progressed within agreed timescales. That the work is prioritised in alignment with classification of the customer so that we put first things first. That there is an effective resource availability to keep the quotations within standard so that we grow the business without adversely impacting our reputation. Apply early escalation as necessary if delays become likely. Implement 80 v 20 Planning v Doing disciplines.
Main Accountabilities: Manging estimating of all Service deliverables provided by company accurately using site visits as necessary for more complex or high value estimates. Discuss pricing strategies for projects and one offs as necessary and make recommendations to SMT. Develop expertise in Pipedrive to maximise full functionality as well as understanding project software Redmine and other related systems. Provide reports for SMT on risk management, trend analysis and opportunities to fully exploit capabilities and relationships.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
Degree or HNC in estimating or relevant construction sector.
NEC & framework contract experience essential
Experience in either Surveying or Utility sectors or similar contractual estimating / QS experience
Excellent inter personal skills allied with verbal and written communication skills
Influencing and relationship building skills
Preferred Experience or Qualification:
ICES / RICS Membership
IOSH managing / working safely or equivalent
Job Pay Range:
Starting from £35,000 – up to market related package, dependant on experience and qualifications.
