Atlantic Geomatics are seeking software developers to join the company’s IT and GIS solutions team.

The Company

Atlantic Geomatics is a Survey and Mapping company specialising in high precision Land and Topographical Surveys, Building Surveys and Geospatial Information System (GIS) Solutions, across the UK and internationally.

The company develops a range of web applications for clients to manage and visualise their spatial data and physical assets. Typical uses for these systems include 3D model mapping and visualisation, asset management, spatial data analysis, and location based data visualisation. These solutions allow users to manage layers of geo-referenced data within a very accurate map produced from high-resolution aerial imagery and laser scans.

The Role

This is a software development role working on web application mapping solutions. The role will involve client and/or server-side development depending on the developer’s skill set. Ideally the developer will have knowledge of JavaScript or Python, however candidates with experience of other languages/web frameworks (i.e. PHP, C#, ASP.NET) with an interest in learning these languages are also encouraged to apply.

Essential

·         Experience of web application development

·         Experience with either Javascript or Python

·         Interest in or desire to learn web mapping skills

Desirable

·         Django and AngularJS frameworks

·         HTML, CSS & SASS

·         Knowledge of other web languages and frameworks (i.e. PHP, C#, ASP.NET)

·         Linux system administration

The role-holder will work on projects involving web based spatial data and will utilise robust application frameworks and mapping libraries to build innovative web based GIS solutions as part of an agile development team.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience developing web applications, and should be motivated by developing robust and high-quality web based solutions. The developer will work as part of a team and therefore good communication and team working skills are essential.

This is an exciting opportunity in new product development and the successful candidate will work on rewarding projects which will require continuous skill development. This role would suit an individual with good programming skills, wishing to pursue a software development career working with geospatial solutions.
