Survey Manager
Job Description
Subscan UDS Ltd are looking to appoint an experienced Survey Manager to work within our Land and Utility division. The role involves the day-to-day management of our teams of Land and Utility Surveyors supporting contracts throughout the UK when required. It will involve visiting sites on a regular basis to provide mentoring, training, audits and survey work assistance as needed. The successful candidate will ideally have at least three years’ experience at a management level.
The successful candidate must have the ability to work to a high degree of accuracy, with strong communication, negotiating and presentation skills and be able to work as part of a dynamic, driven team.
Duties and responsibilities
- Managing and supervising the existing Land and Utility Survey Department in its day-to-day running and coordinating the provision of specialist survey and monitoring services to individual projects.
- Managing all quality management systems for survey-related activities.
- Exploring new and more cost-effective methods of surveying to help the various projects’ profitability and performance, including the increased use of all the companies’ services.
- Assisting the Land and Utility Surveying team in mentoring and advising site engineering staff employed by the company.
- Advising the survey teams and CAD departments within the company on all survey matters.
- Weekly department budgets.
- To continue the growth of the company throughout the UK.
Experience
- Proven experience in land and underground utility surveying, including knowledge of surveying techniques and equipment
- Proficiency in using surveying software and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
