<p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong>&nbsp;</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Produce topographical and measured structural surveys using a range of metric surveying techniques meeting quality, programming and financial targets.</li>



<li>Provide site engineering support during construction, including setting out and volumetric calculations, ensuring accurate delivery and efficient use of resources.</li>



<li>Produce utility surveys for clients using a range of electromagnetic surveying techniques to the PAS-128 standard.</li>



<li>Create and manipulate large-scale 2D and 3D spatial models suitable for detailed design work using a range of surveying and engineering software packages.</li>



<li>Take responsibility for the quality and delivery of assigned survey projects, including quality control, time and resource management and record keeping. </li>



<li>Adhere to all current management systems, processes and requirements ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, policy and best practice and safeguarding staff, contractors and members of the public. </li>
</ul>



<p><strong>What we’re seeking:</strong>&nbsp;</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Working knowledge and experience of one of our main areas of work – topographical, site engineering, underground utility/GPR, or measured building surveying.</li>



<li>An aptitude and willingness to learn new skills to cover the wide range of surveys that we do.</li>



<li>Working knowledge and experience of industry best practice.</li>



<li>Knowledge and experience of survey data processing workflows.</li>



<li>Strong ICT skills, ideally including experience of 3D surveying packages and Microsoft Office software. </li>



<li>Strong communication skills to deal with stakeholders, sometimes on emotive and politically sensitive projects. </li>



<li>Strong ability to react to changing situations and to operate independently without supervision and to be proactive in devising novel solutions to technical problems. </li>



<li>Ideally you would have a degree in Surveying or a related subject with post qualification experience, or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in an engineering environment. </li>



<li>Full driving licence that is valid for the UK. </li>

<p>We are looking to recruit an experienced Land Surveyor to join our team based at our office in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.</p>



<p>You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of land and measured survey projects, using the latest technology such as robotic total stations, GPS and laser scanners.</p>



<p><strong>Essential Requirements:</strong></p>

<p>Are you taking care of our customers and machines at Boels in Leeds? As a Technician you will carry out servicing and bench repairs to various surveying, safety and laser equipment. This is, of course, of great interest to you, with your technical experience love of working with your hands. Your technical skills will come to the fore when you work on equipment such as Leica kit, Total Stations, cable locators, lasers, gas detectors, Gennys, tripods and winches. In the role of Technician you will certainly be undertaking diverse technical tasks on cutting edge machines and robotics. That’s what interests you, right?</p>

<p>Edwards Diving Services are seeking to recruit a full time Land Surveyor for an immediate start to join our growing team and work on a diverse range of projects. This is a great opportunity to build your career with guided internal and external training as suited to your experience. Your role will be flexible, dynamically providing in-house survey services to support our in-house survey team. Predominantly within the Welsh catchment. The right candidate will be able to take initiative and progress working to our purpose everyday: engineering solutions in challenging locations.</p>
<p>EDS invests in its staff, and you will be supported and encouraged to undertake CPD and further qualifications relevant to the role as it develops further in the Geospatial environment. An active input into innovation and future processes will be welcome including any discussion about personal future career development and qualification outside of in-house training.</p>
<p>The role will be based from our South Wales Head Office, near Cardiff.</p>
<p><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Undertaking land / topographic surveys, using a variety of specialist equipment and technology</li>
<li>Use a range of equipment to produce surveys</li>
<li>Analyse information thoroughly before it is handed over</li>
<li>The ability to process the site data an advantage (desirable but not essential)</li>
<li>Check equipment is correct and in calibration for all site activities</li>
<li>Use equipment in the correct manner and keep it clean and functional before returning to stores</li>
<li>Produce site records and specified output/deliverables as required</li>
<li>Preparing survey drawings (desirable but not essential)</li>
<li>Advising about technical matters</li>
<li>Working both on site and in an office/workshops as required</li>
<li>Supporting development of in-house engineers and trainees to use survey equipment effectively and process data</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Skills &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have the following experience/qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li>3+ years in a similar role</li>
<li>Specialist land surveying skills</li>
<li>Technical Qualifications (NVQ/HNC etc)</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal communication</li>
<li>Proven planning and organisational skills</li>
<li>Ability to work safely and at times remotely, observing all aspects of health and safety which could both impact yourself and others</li>
<li>Ability to work to deadlines</li>
<li>Can work within confined spaces (formal confined spaces training will be provided)</li>
<li>Be eligible to live and work in the UK</li>
<li>Hold a full valid UK driving license</li>
<li>Any experience in the following will be advantageous but not essential: Autodesk / Survey process Software / Trimble or Leica / GNSS / total station / laser scanning</li>

<p>To ensure all operational staff are technically competent, consistently trained, and supported &#8211; driving standardisation, enhancing output reliability, and improving overall delivery quality across the business.</p>

<li>Training &amp; Development: Design and deliver training programs, identify skills gaps, support onboarding, deliver classroom and site-based training.</li>

<p>ROLE SPECIFICATION:</p>



<p>Responsible for supporting Project Managers/Head of Departments in delivering surveys across diverse environments. The role requires planning and executing small, medium &amp; large projects, managing timescales, adapting to challenges, and escalating issues when necessary. Flexibility is essential, with work required during days, nights, and some weekends.</p>



<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>



<p>• Responsible for undertaking Small to Large Scale topographical surveys</p>



<p>• Assist with Quotations</p>



<p>• Experience with Total stations, levelling and GPS/GNSS observations</p>



<p>• Working with the latest technology – example Mobile Mapping Systems</p>



<p>• Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties that may arise on site or office</p>



<p>&nbsp;• Mentor and train less experienced team members as and when required</p>
