Role Description

With several large- scale prestigious and innovative projects currently underway, our Sales department continues to grow strongly in the UK. As part of this expansion, we are looking for an experience and skilled Estimator for Infrastructure Projects.

This role will be suited to someone who has (or currently is) working in the rail and infrastructure sectors and would like to switch to a more commercial role providing quotations and proposals in response to requests from our clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious sales or estimator candidates who will work within our Sales Department. The Candidate should be able to demonstrate his/ her experience in infrastructure surveying sectors i.e. railways and motorways works, utilities and airports etc. Also, he/ she should have versatile experience of surveying techniques including but not limited to general topographical surveys, traversing, laser scanning works, CAD processing etc. Also, an appreciation of BIM principles will be preferred.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare quotations for projects
  • Create and follow through leads with new and existing clients
  • Meet with clients and attend relevant network opportunities
  • Manage strong relationships with current clients
  • Supplier inquiries
  • Work in collaboration with sales and estimators in other departments
  • Attend industry’s events and exhibitions to showcase the company’s services
  • Carry out project kick off meetings and general department meetings


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in surveying or rail related business
  • Strong knowledge of the engineering, rail and surveying sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation platforms
  • Possess an understanding of surveying including but not limited to general topographical surveys, traversing, laser scanning works, CAD processing, understanding of variations between 2D and 3D drawing and its implications on quoting etc.
  • Appreciation of BIM discipline
  • Use of various rail related surveying techniques and workflows for this sector
