Location:  Worcester (limited travel expected) Hours: Full time – flexible working

The Survey School has provided commercial training for surveyors (18 years and over) for over 30 years.  Run by The Survey Association (TSA) since 2014, we are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and committed individual to manage the day-to-day running of The School.Essential Skills:

·         Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

·         Excellent IT skills with experience in managing social media

·         Experience using all aspects of Microsoft Office

·         Able to make decisions

·         Ability to strategically plan ahead

·         Flexibility and a self-starter

The core elements of the job are described below, but the role is dynamic and likely to change to fit in with the needs of the School.

Salary dependent upon experience.

Main purpose of position:

–         To manage the whole administration of, and smooth day-to-day operation at, The Survey School

–         To provide administration support and cover as necessary

–         To oversee the marketing and general promotion of The Survey School Courses

–         To manage the EPA procedures at The School for the Geospatial Apprenticeship

–         Line Management of Administrators



Liaise with TSA Secretariat on a weekly basis to provide updates on:

·         Course uptake

·         Course schedules

·         Marketing of Courses activity

·         Tutor cover for all courses

Oversee and maintain:

·         Production of all Course manuals and equipment

·         Preparation of materials/classrooms for each Course

·         Laptops, PCs, phones

·         Food orders

·         Stationery orders

·         Phone cover as and when necessary

·         Be the point of contact for the landlord and associated contractors for all property maintenance issues

·         Be the point of contact for IT issues with PCM (IT support provider)

·         Ensure the care and maintenance of Survey School property by all staff

·         Survey School CRM System (TBA summer 2018)


Work closely with TSA Secretariat to:

·         Maintain the Survey School website – ensure all course dates are up to date

·         Work to improve the Survey School presence on Social Media channels such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook

·         Maintain the Survey School image on templates and all documents so they are consistent throughout. This may include letter templates, email signatures, comp slips, company logo etc. (e.g. make sure our logo is on all documentation)

·         Investigate new marketing opportunities for the Survey School – establishing and developing links with potential clients



Place orders for all equipment, materials and other items:

·         Research items to be purchased and obtain the required number of quotes

·         Seek sign off from Secretary General and place orders for all items

·         Check items upon arrival against purchase orders and allocate accordingly

·         Organise all aspects of insurance for the Survey School

·         Research and organise all aspects of equipment purchase, contract hire and lease



·         Contribute at team meetings and undertake any training as required

·         Represent the Survey School at all times in a positive and professional manner

·         Treat company property and assets with care at all times

·         Conduct your duties in accordance with Survey School policies and procedures

·         Other tasks as required to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the Survey School
