Utility Surveyor

Job Description

We require professional, ambitious, and self-motivated individuals to join our team as we continue to grow our service offering. Malcolm Hughes is one of the leading survey companies in the UK. We operate from offices around the UK and offer our clients genuine nationwide coverage. Suitable candidates should have at least 2-3 years’ experience working as a utility surveyor with a strong understanding of the PAS128 specification. 

In addition, the following attributes are required:

• Working knowledge and able to demonstrate correct use of EML and GPR equipment and accessories in line with PAS128.

• Strong understanding of land survey theory and the ability to use Total stations and GNSS receivers for pickup of utility marks.

• Capable/Proficient in data processing, interpretation, and presentation of survey results (using AutoCAD or other)

• Proficient in the creation of written survey reports, permits to dig, manhole and inspection chamber record cards in accordance with PAS128.

• Experience of working with high density array GPR equipment such as Mala Mira/Stream DP.

• Experience in taking projects from ‘field to finish’ liaising with clients on requirements/specification and providing professional advice.

• Experience of post processing GPR data/and or CCTV surveys is desirable although not essential.

• Effective communication skills.

• Able to work well and contribute as part of a team. 

• Ability to use your initiative, problem solve and work to deadlines.

• Good time keeping.

• Flexibility to work away from home for periods and accommodate various shift patterns when required (such as night shift etc).

• A committed attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced industry.

• A full UK driving licence.
