Job Description

At Encompass Geospatial, accuracy, innovation, and teamwork are at the heart of what we do. We’re looking for a Topographical / Multi-skilled Surveyor to join our expanding team and help deliver high-quality geospatial data for projects across the UK and beyond.

Working across a broad range of sectors — including construction, infrastructure, and environmental development — you’ll use the latest total stations, GNSS, and 3D laser scanning technologies to capture and deliver precise survey data. You’ll collaborate with experienced colleagues in a supportive environment that values professional growth, technical excellence, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

This role is ideal for someone with at least one year’s experience in topographical surveying who is keen to broaden their expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of survey instruments — including total stations, GNSS receivers, laser scanners, and drones (UAVs).
  • Process survey data, create CAD drawings and digital terrain models to industry standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other survey teams (utility, BIM, and Engineering) to provide integrated project solutions.
  • Ensure the accuracy, quality, and safety of all survey outputs.
  • Maintain equipment and manage field documentation effectively.
  • Occasionally, travel to sites across the UK and abroad for short-term fieldwork assignments.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in topographical surveying.
  • Strong understanding of survey principles and data collection methods.
  • Confident using total stations and GNSS equipment; experience with laser scanning or UAVs desirable.
  • Competent in data processing and CAD drafting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to high standards of quality and safety.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred).
  • CSCS card (preferred; training can be provided).
  • Willingness to work in varied environments and undertake occasional travel.
  • Desire to work hard, be a team player, use own initiative, and strive for continued personal development.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with regular reviews.
  • Structured career development and clear progression routes.
  • Ongoing CPD opportunities and certification support.
  • Access to cutting-edge equipment and software.
  • Health insurance plan (post-probation) and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Supportive, friendly, and professional team culture.
