Key Responsibilities:

  • Drone Operations:
  • Operate DJI drones equipped with specialized payloads to conduct aerial surveys of designated sites.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety protocols during drone flights.
  • Conduct pre-flight checks, monitor weather conditions, and assess potential hazards to ensure safe and successful operations.
  • Data Acquisition:
  • Capture high-resolution aerial imagery, LiDAR data, and other geospatial information using drone-mounted sensors and cameras.
  • Collect precise GPS and GNSS data to accurately geo-reference captured imagery and maintain spatial accuracy.
  • Employ advanced surveying techniques to capture detailed elevation, terrain, and feature data for mapping purposes.
  • Data Processing:
  • Process raw aerial data using industry-standard software tools such as Pix4D, DroneDeploy, or similar platforms.
  • Generate orthomosaic maps, digital surface models (DSMs), point clouds, and other geospatial products from collected data.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of processed mapping data.
  • Mapping and Reporting:
  • Generate comprehensive maps, 3D models, and analytical reports to support land surveying, engineering, and inspection projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate drone-derived data into GIS (Geographic Information Systems) workflows and project deliverables.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in geomatics, surveying, remote sensing, or related field.
  • Drone License
  • Proven experience in operating DJI drones and conducting aerial surveys for geospatial applications.
  • Proficiency in using drone-specific software for flight planning, data capture, and processing (e.g., DJI FlightHub, Pix4Dcapture, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of geomatics principles, surveying techniques, and spatial data analysis.
  • Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools is desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Certification or training in drone piloting (e.g., Part 107 FAA Remote Pilot Certificate) is preferred.

Benefits:
