Assistant Measured Building Surveyor

Anthony Brookes Surveys Ltd is a well established, survey company with a first class reputation. Based in Bristol and working nationally, we undertake a wide range of survey including Measured Building, Topographic, Rail, Setting Out and Monitoring.
We are currently looking for a motivated and committed individual to join our Measured Building Surveying team. The role will involve a mixture of fieldwork and office work processing and drafting. Experience useful but not essential as training will be given. Initially, you would only need to be able to get to the office, but as you learn and progress to carrying out your own surveys you would need to be able to drive and have a vehicle.
The buildings we work on range from terraced properties through to listed manor houses/churches, hospitals and schools. The role will require travel, occasional night shifts and working away from home. However a comprehensive additional remuneration package is in place for all hours worked outside of a core 40 hour working week, including paid travel.
Main duties/responsibilities:
- Assist with loading/unloading kit
- Helping surveyor carry out site work
- Setting up tripods/instruments/targets/scanners
- Learning to use instruments & scanners in the correct manner
- Checking & maintaining kit, ensuring it is clean and functional at all times
Candidate requirements:
- Interest in working outdoors
- Maths and English GCSE
- Good communication skills, strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail and a problem solving can-do attitude
- Good time keeping
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Right to work in the UK
- No drug or alcohol related offence within the last five years is permitted due to some of the site environments/restrictions we work in
- DBS checks will be undertaken for working in school environments
