Topographic / Building Surveyor
Job Description
CT Surveys Ltd is a forward thinking survey company with a reputation for delivering accurate and high quality survey information and we provide a first class working environment for our employees. CT Surveys is small in size with a low staff turnover, and we are looking for another surveyor to join our team.
CT Surveys are involved with a wide range survey work including Topographic Surveys, Measured Building Surveys, Laser Scanning, BIM and Drone surveys. We work on domestic, retail, industrial, commercial and highway projects, so the type of work we do is very varied.
We are currently looking for a topographic and/or building surveyor. All levels of experience would be considered but applicants MUST have at least 1+ years work experience as a surveyor in the UK to be considered. We offer continued training and CPD to enhance your surveying skills.
We are not looking for CAD Technicians or Managers. The successful applicant would need to be out surveying and then return to the office to process their own data. If applying as a building surveyor, the successful applicant must also be able to undertake topographic surveys.
Candidates should have some experience of the following:
- Use of a Total Station and GPS – we use Leica, GeoMax and Trimble equipment
- Understand survey control and why it is needed
- Laser scanning experience would be a plus but is not necessary – we can teach this in house.
- Experience of survey software and CAD – we use LSS for processing topographic survey data.
- Experience of Leica Cyclone, CloudworX and Recap would be a plus but this can be taught
The position will include working in all weather with varied working hours. The successful applicant would need to be reliable, flexible and enthusiastic, to be able to work on their own and as part of a team.
Working away from home may be required from time to time, but the majority of our work is based around Yorkshire and the surrounding counties, so working away is relatively rare and is shared out between our staff. Some weekend/night working may also be required, but again this is very rare. We value the need for our staff’s personal time and do not actively search for weekend or night work.
We generally meet at our office in Leeds each morning before going to site so applicants need to reside within commuting distance of our office in Leeds. Equipment can be taken home for some projects when Hybrid working helps reduce travel. Office processing would be at the office in Leeds. One of the main reasons for office based working is to help with your development. Being around other surveyors, sharing ideas and methodology will make you a better surveyor. This is not a work from home position. A clean drivers licence is required.
Level of pay would depend on the experience of the applicant. We also consider a Profit Related Bonus Scheme to employees with 1 years service who are good performers.
