About the role
BWB Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a Land Surveyor to be based in our Nottingham office.
The role has been created due to the continued expansion of the Surveying service within Infrastructure Management. It requires an excellent understanding of the technical, operational and practical aspects of Land Surveys, as well as experience of undertaking a range of other surveying activities. The role is within a team that is expanding quickly therefore able to offer clear career paths for the successful candidate.

BWB’s Transport and Infrastructure Group combines this requisite expertise with innovative thinking. We also do it in a manner that enables us to focus on the delivery of high quality, value engineered infrastructure capable of serving our nation’s current and future needs.
Our talented and experienced design teams fuse local knowledge with national design standards and legislation in a manner that enables BWB to undertake a wide variety of projects ranging from local area traffic management improvements to complex multi-modal transport interchanges.
We are in the middle of very exciting times for the Infrastructure Management Team and indeed for BWB. As well as celebrating our 25th anniversary, we are looking to grow this dynamic and integral team. We provide a comprehensive design and advisory service focused on areas such as: –
About you
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a professional approach to the working environment and will be comfortable carrying out surveys to a high standard and assist with the management within the team.
With sound communication skills, you will be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, Clients and act as an ambassador for the Surveying Service.
In addition, you will be adaptable and flexible in terms of time and workload and proactive in the resolution of colleagues and Clients issues. With a clear vision for the expansion and diversification of the Service, they will be able to work efficiently independently, or with others to make this a reality.
You must be qualified to a minimum of HNC in Civil Engineering Surveying or equivalent and have a good level of practical experience.
The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:
• 4-5 years’ experience in producing surveys.
• Capable of undertaking Topographical, Building and Watercourse surveys and associated volumetric calculations using Leica Total Station and GPS equipment.
• Experienced user of LSS and AutoCAD to formulate reports and designs
• Laser Scanning and Point Cloud registration experience would be of benefit for this role.
• Rail surveying experience would be of benefit for this role.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise reports for clients
• Able to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and contractors
• Full driving licence valid in the UK
• Organisation and time management
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
