Meet TSA’s new Council members!

Published: 21 Jun 2023

Our Council is made up of 12 member companies and subdivided into three core committees; Public Relations, Membership & Internal Affairs and Technical. Following our AGM earlier this year, we are delighted to introduce our new vice president and two new Council members.

New vice president for TSA

Our new vice president, Claire Fenwick, completed the TSA Surveying Course at The Survey School before founding her own award-winning surveying company, Spatial Dimensions Ltd and joining Council in 2019. Speaking of her ambitions for her profession, Claire says,

“I would like to see the geospatial surveying profession elevated in the eyes of the end users and other professional consultants. Once we have gained more respect, the sooner we can charge a higher fee, to fairly reflect the importance of our role.”

New PR committee members

Polly Hopkins, from Storm Geomatics and Ben Barnard, who is Commercial Director at Severn Partnership, have both joined the PR Committee. Commenting on her company’s membership of TSA, business development expert Polly says,

“At Storm Geomatics we benefit from being a TSA member company in lots of ways. One of the best for us are the seminars and conferences.  These events are always a great opportunity to network amongst others in our profession and offer the chance to gain further knowledge in both technical and strategic business skills.”

Ben is responsible for new business lead generation and sales activity at Severn Partnership. Commenting on why he stood for Council, Ben says,

“I wanted to play a more active role supporting our profession and the professionals within it. With my background in sales and then moving to Severn, I bring a unique viewpoint to the council. I’m keen for the profession to grow and for us to develop the next generation of surveyors so this was also part of my motivation as I know first-hand the problems we have with recruitment and training. I also feel this is a good step in my own personal development as I will learn a lot in this role and from my fellow council members.”

Date for your diary

Our new Council members meet in July and October and plan to be at our annual conference on 8 November. More details of this special event, and an unmissable keynote speaker, will be coming soon. Keep up to date with our latest event details here https://www.tsa-uk.org.uk/events/
